Another Illegal Immigrant Civil Rights Violation

http://www.officer.com/article/article.jsp?siteSection=5&id=34336

Since when do ILLEGAL immigrants have US CIVIL Rights? Are those not the rights of American CITIZENS? Just a thought.

America's First 2007 Baby

New York City - 1/1/07 - The first American baby was born in a New York City hospital just after the stroke of midnight. The baby girl won a $25,000 bond scholarship from Baby's R Us, along with an unlimited supply of baby needs. What a wonderful gift to give to the child of law-breaking parents. Yes, folks, this child's parents are illegal immigrants. If this child's parents were to move to Massachusetts, under new Governor Patrick's plans she could also get state funding to go to college, because Governor Patrick believes that illegal immigrants have more rights and needs than American citizens. What a wonderful world we live in.
In my opinion, everyone in this country knows where this family is right now - So, why has the ICE not gone and arrested these illegal immigrants and deported them? We know what the law is; we know where the law breakers are, but no action? No, instead the government is more concerned with getting two heroic Border Patrol agents in prison because they shot an illegal immigrant who had over 500 lbs of marijuana in his direct control.
Where have the priorities of this country gone?

I hope this country elects strongly conservative Republican to the Presidency in 2008. We need someone to take control of this illegal immigration problem.

2008 Republican Straw Poll

Romney's "Illegals"

Well, the Boston Globe today is reporting that for the past 10 years (Romney has only been Governor for 4 of those years) Mass. Governor Mitt Romney has been using a lawn care company that employs illegal immigrants. Apparently, because the Governor spoke Spanish to these workers (the extent was saying "hello" or "good day" in Spanish) he should have known these workers were illegal and now should not run for President because he is a hypocrite.
Obviously, this is another attempt by MSM to destroy a true conservative voice who will give any Dem a huge fight in 2008. First, the logic of the MSM is immoral. Because these workers spoke a language other than English (namely Spanish) Romney should have known the workers were illegal and confronted the company. There are millions of legal immigrants and new citizens who still use Spanish (or other languages) as their primary language, especially when in contact with others who share their language and it is morally wrong for us to assume these individuals are illegal just because of the language spoken. Secondly, if Romney is at fault here (for hiring a company that employs illegal immigrants) then every American citizen is also at fault using their logic. Any time I go into a Wal-Mart, Shaw's, Stop n Shop, whatever I should now be inquiring of the manager if they have any illegals working for them otherwise I am culpable for their illegal hiring practices.
I applaud the way Governor Romney replied to this non-issue. When confronted by the MSM he replied, "Aw Geez," and then walked away. Now, I do hope the Romney "campaign" does address this non-issue quickly and honestly. He did NOTHING wrong no matter how hard the MSM tries to convince the public otherwise; however, this is an opportunity for Romney to highlight the needs for Immigration reform in this country and to put his plans out into the public.
I believe that Romney is more than bright and articulate enough to make this smearing attempt a non-issue and I hope for his presidential aspirations that he does so.

Where I stand ... Crime and the Death Penalty

Allow me to make my position known right up front: I support the death penalty. I believe the use of the death penalty needs to be expanded. I believe our criminal justice system in this country is fundamentally flawed. A system that gives more rights to the criminals than the victims and their families is WRONG.
Yes, I believe innocent until proven guilty. I will stand by that until the day I die. However, I do think it is morally wrong that defense attorneys and the media are allowed to publicly degrade victims. I hate watching the evening news and witnessing them tear apart another rape victim or excuse the actions of a repeat offender because the "system" failed him or her. I am a strong propronent of "three strikes" laws and believe that for certain crimes three strikes is too many.
I support stiffer and mandatory sentences for those who prey on our children. Probation for a convicted child rapist is WRONG! I am not here to say what those sentences should be because I have not researched enough and have not done a comparitive study with current mandatory sentences.
There is probably more I can write on this subject and will be more than willing to answer questions you might have about my positions concerning this subject matter. Until then. rgb

Decision '08

I have found my candidate and he isn't even officially running yet. I whole-heartedly throw my support behind the current Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination to be President of the United States of America. I have a link to one of the many pro-Romney websites on the left side of this blog. As I find more and more sites I will be sure to add those as well in addition to including the official Romney 2008 website when it is created.

Where I stand ... Life Issues

Yes, this is the poison pill. However, I am not afraid to make my view known throughout cyber space and leave it there for all to see. Years down the road people may come here and want to read what I believed in 2006 and see if it is the same thing I believe in the future. I believe it will be. So, here it goes.
I remember a Mass gubernatorial election some 16 or so years ago. Perhaps, it was only 12 come to think of it. Either way I remember it well enough to know who I would have picked. I was brought up conservative and registered as an independent on my 18th birthday so I could vote that fall in local elections. I was living in NH so I had no input into the Mass election but I did have an opinion. The Republican was Bill Weld (who won) and the Democract was John Silber. Weld was a pro-choice Republican and Silber a pro-life Democrat. I would have voted for Silber.
Yes, I believe a truly democratic political party should have room in it for people who see both sides of an issue. I am staunchly pro-life and while I completely disagree with those on the pro-choice side I must say that I have room for them in my life and in my political party as well. I believe that life begins at conception and therefore an abortion is murder - plain and simple. I do not support murder and therefore I do not support abortion.
More importantly, I am a staunch states-right advocate. With that in mind, I am 100% opposed to Roe v. Wade. I believe that the federal government and the U.S. Supreme Court has NO constitutional rights in this battle. Abortion should be an issue decided by individual states (as should every other non-national defense issue). Were Roe v. Wade ever to be overturned and the states given back their Constitutional rights to govern and I had a vote in the matter I would vote to ban abortions in my state.
There are so many contraceptive options out there for couples and individuals that I believe that if a couple puts themselves in a position where pregnancy has become possible that they should then be able to kill their child through a "morning after" pill. If a couple is willing to put themselves in a position to become pregnant then they need to be willing to deal with the results of that choice not just simply go to their local corner market and "fix" their mistake with a pill. Once again, I believe this is an issue that states should decide. The federal government needs to stay out of the issue and if the issue came up on the local level I would vote against allowing the "morning after" pill.
With all of this in mind I do firmly believe that adoptions should be made easier! There are many many couples out there who are unable to become pregnant and would love to welcome a child into their family through adoption. I believe adoption should be promoted and rewarded.
Another life issue is the death penalty. I was going to include that in this post but due to the length of this post and the possibility of an even greater length extension with this issue I will instead create a new post covering the death penalty.

Where I stand ... Illegal Immigration

Some may wonder why a resident of New Hampshire would have any interest in Illegal Immigration. However, with the recent election of Deval Patrick in Massachussetts (where I was born) and his promised attempts to give illegal immigrants licenses among other benefits this issue does effect those of us who live close to MA.
Allow me to begin by saying I do NOT and will NEVER support amnesty for illegal immigrants. There are too many individuals "lined up" all over the world waiting for the opportunity to come to the United States for this country to instead reward those whose first act in this country was criminal (illegally entering the country). I believe that all illegal immigrants should be deported but may be given the opportunity to return through LEGAL means.
Many say that illegal immigrants provide services that citizens will not. This may be the case and would probably remain the case as long as large corporations and organizations are allowed to use illegal immigrant labor and therefore never have to offer competitive or reasonable wages. As long as major companies are given a free pass on illegal immigrant labor this will be the case. While many illegal immigrants do provide certain services there are still many many many more legal immigrants providing those same services but companies are required to pay the legal immigrants true wages.
I firmly believe that our porous southern border needs to be closed to illegal immigrants. I would support whatever is deemed necessary to accomplish this goal. I believe some positive steps have been taken but would like to see even stronger steps taken to protect our borders.
One tricky issue that arises out of the illegal immigration debate is the fate of the children of illegal immigrants who are born in the United States and therefore are considered US citizens. In no way do I propose usurping the Constitution to accomplish my personal beliefs. However, it must be noted that these children did not choose to be born to illegal immigrants. Many of these illegal immigrants know the law (yet still break it) and in this area attempt to use the birth of their children to their advantage. I am sorry but I say, "The law is the law!" You are not in this country of legal means and therefore your fate is deportation. While I understand that many may feel compassion for these families (and I do count myself in that group) I still can not compromise my belief on this issue.
If an illegal immigrant is to be deported I believe they should be given the choice on their child's fate. That child is an United States citizen and has every legal right to stay in this country. If the illegal immigrant parent chooses to allow their child to stay in this country, then so be it. I am sure a foster or adoptive home can be found. If the illegal immigrant chooses to bring their child with them to their home country then so be it. The child will remain a US citizen and hopefully upon reaching a reasonable age can come back to the US and work towards getting his/her parent(s) into this country legally.
Illegal immigration can be a devisive issue. Not only do the two major American political parties disagree but even within each party there is disagreement. I have my beliefs and have formulated them over many years. I believe this position is what is best for the safety, security, and prosperity of this nation. I respect all those who disagree and look forward to spirited, positive discussion.

Where I stand ... Overview.

Over the next week or two I plan on writing out my beliefs on many current current issues both locally and nationally. As a resident of New Hampshire I will make known my beliefs on many of the issues currently facing the Granite State. Additionally, I will make known my beliefs on many of the current facing our great nation. I believe you will find most of my stances to be very conservative with some libertarian leanings mixed in. I do consider myself an extremely fiscal conservative and a social conservative as well.
I must say that as I consider running for local or national office I believe there needs to be a willingness to work together on the tough issues that face municipalities, states, and the nation. I will hold firm to my positions while still possessing a willingness to opportunities for compromise when the public's best interest is present.
Therefore, without further ado I shall begin with Illegal Immigration.

First Post

This is my first post. I will be using this blog randomly to rant or ramble about anything from sports to politics. Actually, I'll probably only be ranting or rambling about sports or politics to be honest.
